Essays: Ideas on Community as a Web

Consider a spider’s web. It has a core centre with links to different concentric circular shapes; the links spread out in irregular forms and concentric shapes, yet they are all connected and necessary to each other. There is a general pattern to this web.

Now imagine your community as a web of inclusion. Determine how you can create a web of links of all the people and places that matter to you. Put yourself in the centre core of this community web. Generate the different links that you are connected to. Reflect on how these links can engage you in the spirit of community. Are some links fleeting interactions, while other links are deeply rooted and connected in an active manner? What are the comparisons of the fleeting interactions versus the deeply rooted connections?
